Autograph letter signed, dated : [Milan, September 1838], to Ferdinand [Denis], 1838, September.

Largely of a social nature, reporting on the hectic pace of recent activities, saying that he sent Denis a quite small musical fragment called "Au bord d'une source" which will appear in the Album d'un voyageur, asking for news from Paris, saying that he just heard that Berlioz's opera [Benvenuto Cellini] did not meet with success, that he does not think the defeat will trouble Berlioz much, adding that "Berlioz n'en reste pas moins la plus vigoureuse cervelle musicale de la France," mentioning Henry Blaze, Chaudes-Aignes, Félix Pyat, Ballanche, Ricordi, etc.
